Who Am I?

Well, to start off I would like to quote the 2007 movie, Juno.
"I don't know what kind of girl I am."
I'd like to say I know what I want to be when I grow up and where my life is headed, but I can't.
When questions like this show up at the beginning of each school year and the teacher wants to know who I am and what I want to do with my life, I have no idea what to write. Usually, I write impressive things I have done like skydiving or getting tattoos. Or I write about my family (2 parents and a 16 year old sister) and things I like to do like; swimming, facebook and myspace, friends and watching movies.
I always want to write something super creative and entertaining to the reader, but at this moment nothing comes to mind.
What do I write about myself that I would want my teacher reading and anyone else who happens to fall across it? My favorite movies? Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion. Favorite band? I don't really have one but more like a top five: Led Zep, ACDC, Skynard, Queen, and Relient K (don't ask). What my career goals are? Basically, I want to work for Seventeen magazine or a publication extremely similar.
Anyways, since I don't know what to write up there, I guess I'll skip to the part about my relationship with journalism.
Well, I was Managing Editor and Editor-in-chief of my high school newspaper, my Junior and Senior year of high school. I have only recently become interested in Journalism and not positive it's the right field of work for me. So far, I like Journalism for these reasons: I like seeing the finished publication and seeing my name on the front page. I like the variety of topics a publication can hold and the variety of people who read them.
I hope I picked the right major, being Journalism, because I have NO idea what I would do if I didn't succeed. Probably youth ministry.
So...until next time,
Peace, Love and _______(fill in the blank)
-kristen.

I think you know what kind of girl you are. YOu are honest, reliable, not a faker and a disliker of fakers, a disciple of Christ who wants to be different from what the world says is cool, and not ashamed, even to wear it on your wrist! I think you want to make a difference in peoples lives and want to see changes in the world for the better. I think you crave purpose and will seek that in your youth!
And I think you truly like Relient K above all the others!!!!

Don't stress over not knowing who you are or what you want to do. Even if you thought you did, you'd be wrong :) Not only does it take a while to figure it out, but once you do it often changes! What's important is that you're reasonably sure God's directing your path or at least smiles on the one you've chosen. One of the many ways He's gracious to us is that we often have more than one decent option. You're pursuing a great one now -- education! Stick with it. Stay close to God and the rest will figure itself out!

Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will direct your path."
